Thomas, this is nice!!! Where is this located?

  • Thomas says:

    Thanks :)

It has been taken near Glencoe, a small town in the western Highlands of Scotland. Beautiful place, but kind of wet in the autumn. But hey, the water in those rapids has to come from somewhere…

Thomas, the clarity and sharpness here is almost biting. The contrast of the dark blocks and the vivid waters (right shutter speed, not too much blur) is wonderful, and over all ar the towering trees with the brown scrub underneath, like a 2nd incarnation of permanence positioned against the moving of the water.

  • Hmm … this image is self-hosted. Did I get it wrong about SmugMug?? Nice image of course.

  • Thomas says:

@Andreas: Nope, you got it absolutely correct. The idea is to host the high-resolution photos at Smugmug, where I’m also going to put together the galleries. But the images for the individual posts (down-scaled versions or images that won’t make it into the permanent galleries) are hosted on-site.
