Some time for thoughts…

December 29th, 2011,  7 comments

This time between the times – between Christmas and New Years is always time for a bit of contemplation. What did happen, what did not? What do I need to change, what do I need to hold on to?

And of course the really serious stuff: what new photo-courses to take, what gear to buy… :)

Hope you all have a great time!

I love it! “what gear to buy …” :) What are your plans for new gear in the new year?

Ohm, don’t tell the wife but the Canon S100 sounds reeally tempting. And if Canon ever brings to successor of the 5D M2 on the market – who knows what’s going to happen… ;)

But my most serious photographic plan for 2012? Spend more time doing it! Although that might qualify more as “wishful thinking” than as “a plan”.

That’s a great image, Thomas, very contemplative. I can really feel the atmosphere through the image.

Equipment, huh…? I think I’m good when it comes to cameras, but I have just a few days ago ‘invested’ in a new printer (Epson R3000). I will need a new scanner, too… :-)

I have been toying with a nice printer such as the R3000 for quite a while…

Problem is that I wouldn’t have a high print volume (perhaps 1-2 prints/week). And I fear that the printer nozzles would get clogged then. Maybe I should reconsider?

  • Just to throw my hat in the ring, for regular day to day (or week to week) printing I use an epson 1400. A3+ size, 6 tanks, decent media choices. It doesn’t start to clog unless you leave it along for a month. Not a great printer mind you, but good enough for basic color photographs. Nice site by the way!

Thanks for the info! Maybe one can take that as a ballpark figure for other Epson printers as well. Once per month sounds doable…
