Oh yeah, I forgot: …and teapots. Loads of teapots, from simple clay pots to more fancy (and, to be honest, absolutely horrid) tea…”thingies”. Made of metal, plastic, jade, porcelain or a combination of everything. No, I’m more for the simple pots – but I had myself under control. I only bought three.
More didn’t fit into my luggage – I mean, I also had to buy tea itself. Oh well… But seriously, the green tea in China alone is already worth the trip.
Ove mentioned in a comment to one of my first photos from Beijing that the Fuji X100 would certainly have been “striving immensly” during that trip. Oh yes – he definately has a point. It would have been really nice to get rid of a kilo of DSLR. I actually tried desperately to get the camera before our trip, but it was not available anywhere. Certainly not for a price that was at least semi-reasonable. I mean, three times the recommended retail price? On Ebay? From a “retailer” somewhere on the other side of the world? Nope – so I ended up doing the really touristy thing: a swetting European with a bulky camera. Good that there are no photos of that sight around.
Well, none that you’ll ever see…
